TAT wt Allele

**Definition:** Human TAT wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 16q22.2 and is approximately 11 kb in length. This allele, which encodes tyrosine aminotransferase protein, is involved in the catabolism of tyrosine. Mutation in the gene is associated with tyrosinemia type 2 (Richner-Hanhart syndrome).
