Anti-GUCY2C CAR-T Cells
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of T-lymphocytes that have been genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting human guanylate cyclase 2C (GUCY2C; GCC; guanylyl cyclase C; heat-stable enterotoxin receptor; hSTAR), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, anti-GUCY2C CAR-T cells target and bind to GUCY2C-expressing tumor cells, thereby inducing selective toxicity in GUCY2C-expressing tumor cells. GUCY2C, a transmembrane receptor expressed on intestinal epithelial cells, is overexpressed on certain tumors of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
**Synonyms:** - Anti-guanylate Cyclase 2C CAR T Cells - GUCY2C-targeting CAR T-cells
