**Definition:** A variant lineage of SARS coronavirus 2 where the following variations in the spike glycoprotein sequence have been identified: deletion of the amino acids at position 144 and amino acid substitutions D80G, F157S, L452R, D614G and D950H. The substitutions T791I and T859N have also been detected in some but not all sequences for this lineage.
