Heterogeneity Diffusion Imaging

**Definition:** A diffusion MRI-based imaging method capable of detecting and characterizing heterogeneous tumor composition and microvascularity simultaneously from a single clinical diffusion MRI scan. It uses a multiple diffusion compartment model to disentangle the confounding effects of anatomical complexities and neuropathologies of heterogeneous pathological components that are mixed in a single imaging voxel. It is primarily used to assess primary brain neoplasms.
