FGFR3/TACC3 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene that results from a complex rearrangement involving deletion, duplication and insertion of sequences at 4p16 that fuses part or all of exon 17 or exon 18 of the FGFR3 gene with exon 4, 8, 9, 10 or 11 of the TACC3 gene. This translocation is associated with glioblastoma, multiple myeloma, bladder cancer and several other tumor types.
