**Definition:** A surgical procedure to create a structure that acts as a stable, peripheral nerve bioamplifier for control of a prosthetic device. A transected peripheral nerve, or peripheral nerve fascicle, is implanted into a free muscle graft which then undergoes a process of regeneration, revascularization, and reinnervation by the implanted peripheral nerve.
