MASP2 wt Allele
**Semantic type:** Gene or Genome
**Definition:** Human MASP2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1p36.22 and is approximately 21 kb in length. This allele, which encodes mannan-binding lectin serine protease 2 protein, is involved in antibody-independent activation of complement. Loss of function mutations in the gene are associated with defect in lectin complement activation pathway type 2 (MASP2 deficiency).
