Allogeneic Anti-CD33 CAR NK Cells
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of off-the-shelf natural killer (NK) cells engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the cluster of differentiation 33 (CD33) antigen, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, the allogeneic anti-CD33 CAR NK cells target and bind to CD33 expressed on the surface of tumor cells. This induces selective toxicity in tumor cells expressing CD33. CD33 is expressed on normal non-pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells and on myeloid leukemia cells.
**Synonyms:** - Allogeneic Anti-CD33 Chimeric Antigen Receptor-Natural Killer Cells
