Bacterial Type III Secretion-based Agent T3P-Y058-739
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A therapeutic based on a genetically-modified, live attenuated strain of the bacterium Yersinia enterocolitica that is able to deliver a combination of as of yet undisclosed type I interferons (IFN) and toll-like receptor (TLR) protein payloads, with potential immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, bacterial type III secretion (T3S)-based agent T3P-Y058-739 may selectively target tumor cells, colonize and deliver the protein payloads into tumor cells. This may activate type I IFN- and TLR-mediated signaling, thereby activating an immune response and killing tumor cells.
