**Definition:** Human ALPK3 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 15q25.3 and is approximately 56 kb in length. This allele, which encodes alpha-protein kinase 3 protein, is involved in cardiomyocyte differentiation and serine/threonine phosphorylation. Mutation of the gene is associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy 27.
