GPAM wt Allele

**Definition:** Human GPAM wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 10q25.2 and is approximately 66 kb in length. This allele, which encodes glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase 1, mitochondrial protein, is involved in synthesis of glycerolipids. Mutation of the gene may increase the risk of alcohol-related liver disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
