Peroneus Brevis Muscle

**Definition:** A short muscle in the lateral compartment of the lower leg that originates on the distal two-thirds of the lateral surface of the fibula and the anterior intermuscular septum, attaches to the tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal bone, and functions to plantar flex and evert the foot.
