**Definition:** Saposin-C (80 aa, ~9 kDa) is encoded by the human PSAP gene. This protein plays a role in binding to beta-glucosylceramidase and beta-galactosylceramidase to promote the hydrolysis of glucosylceramide and galactosylceramide, respectively.
