**Definition:** Human NBEAP1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 15q11.2 and is approximately 99 kb in length. This allele, which encodes putative protein BCL8, plays a role in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). A chromosomal translocation t(14;15)(q32;q11-13) involving this gene and the IGHV locus is associated with 4-5% of all DLBCL cases.
