Nurses' Health Study II

**Definition:** A prospective cohort study started in 1989 for single and married female nurses, ages 25 to 42. It looks at the impact on women's health of oral contraceptives initiated during adolescence, diet and physical activity in adolescence, lifestyle risk factors, as well as the diseases examined in the original nurses' health study. The NHSII cohort is a younger population than the NHS Original Cohort.
