Relaxin Mimetic AZD5462

**Definition:** A mimetic of the endogenous heterodimeric insulin-like peptide relaxin, with potential vasodilating, cardioprotective and anti-fibrotic activities. Upon administration, relaxin mimetic AZD5462 mimics relaxin and may bind to relaxin receptor 1 (relaxin family peptide receptor 1; RXFP1). This may activate multiple relaxin-mediated signaling pathways and result in vasodilation, and anti-fibrotic and cardioprotective effects.
