Anti-CEA CAR T Cells

**Definition:** A preparation of T-lymphocytes engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the tumor-associated antigen (TAA) human carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, anti-CEA CAR T cells specifically recognize and induce selective toxicity in CEA-expressing tumor cells. CEA, a member of the CEA family of proteins, plays a key role in cell migration, cell invasion and cell adhesion, and is overexpressed by a variety of cancer types.
