**Definition:** A genetic finding indicating that tumor cells express elevated levels of genes encoding proteins involved in inflammation and immunity. This signature may include elevated expression of genes involved in interferon signaling, antigen presentation, immune checkpoint regulation and/or the differentiation and activation of cytotoxic T-cells.
