**Definition:** A measurement of the efficiency of oxygen exchange by the lungs, which is calculated by multiplying the fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) (in %) to mean airway pressure (Mpaw) and dividing by pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO2).
