Tetratricopeptide Repeat

**Definition:** A protein binding motif consisting of repeats of a degenerate 34 amino acid sequence. These sequences can be found individually and dispersed in the protein sequence or as arrays of 3-16 tandem repeats. Tetratricopeptide (TPR) repeats have a paired alpha helical structure and the pairs can form higher order structural domains that are involved in protein-protein interactions.
