Advanced Liver Fibrosis

**Definition:** Septal or bridging fibrosis that results in the disruption of normal blood flow and liver function, and extends across hepatic lobules with significant porto-portal or porto-central bridging. Progression may lead to the formation of nodules that distort the liver architecture, which is termed cirrhosis.
