Davesomeran
**Semantic type:** Nucleic Acid, Nucleoside, or Nucleotide|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A formulation consisting of a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) encapsulating a messenger RNA (mRNA) encoding the full-length, prefusion stabilized spike (S) protein of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) Omicron variant lineages BA.4 and BA.5 (Omicron BA.4/BA.5), with potential immunizing activity against SARS-CoV-2. Upon administration of davesomeran, the LNP binds to the plasma membrane of cells and releases the mRNA into the cells. The mRNA is then translated by ribosomes to produce the SARS-CoV-2 S protein. This may activate both humoral and cellular immune responses which may result in protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection.
**Synonyms:** - CX-034476 OMICRON BA.4/BA.5 - DAVESOMERAN
