Luteinizing Hormone

**Definition:** A heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone secreted by the gonadotropic cells of the anterior pituitary gland. This hormone is involved in stimulation of testosterone production by Leydig cells in males and triggering ovulation and corpus luteum development in females.
