Rinne Test Method
**Semantic type:** Diagnostic Procedure
**Definition:** A technique that assesses auditory function by comparing sound conduction through air versus the mastoid bone, in which a vibrating tuning fork (at 512Hz) is placed on the mastoid bone and the subject indicates when they can no longer hear the vibration, at which point the still vibrating tuning fork is moved 1-2cm from the auditory canal and the subject again indicates when they can no longer hear the fork.
