**Definition:** A presumed acute COVID-19 infection as evidenced by detection of SARS-CoV-2 by antigen test in a respiratory specimen, by meeting clinical criteria and epidemiological linkage criteria for COVID-19 with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed, or by a death certificate that lists COVID-19 disease or SARS-CoV-2 as an underlying cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death with no confirmatory laboratory evidence of SARS-CoV-2.
