Anti-CD33 CAR T-cells

**Definition:** A preparation of T-lymphocytes that have been genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the CD33 antigen, with potential immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, anti-CD33 CAR T-cells specifically recognize and kill CD33-expressing tumor cells. CD33 is expressed on normal non-pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells and is overexpressed on myeloid leukemia cells.
