**Definition:** Human ARHGDIA wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 17q25.3 and is approximately 4 kb in length. This allele, which encodes Rho GDP-dissociation inhibitor 1 protein, is involved in the recycling and cellular distribution of activated Rho GTPases. Mutation of the gene is associated with nephrotic syndrome type 8.
