CD40L-augmented Autologous Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) derived from a patient's tumor that have been stimulated ex vivo with CD40 ligand (CD40L, tumor necrosis factor superfamily member 5, TNFSF5, CD154, TNF-related activation protein, TRAP, gp39) during cell expansion, with potential immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, the CD40L-augmented autologous TILs specifically recognize and kill the patient's tumor cells. Stimulation with a CD40L may enhance both the expansion of the TILs and the tumor-killing ability of the TILs when returned to the patient.
**Synonyms:** - CD40 Ligand-stimulated Autologous TILs - CD40L TIL - CD40L-augmented Autologous TILs
