Lead Pb 212 Pentixather
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A radioconjugate composed of pentixather, a chemokine receptor C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4)-targeting ligand, conjugated to the alpha-emitting radioisotope lead Pb 212, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration, lead Pb 212 pentixather targets and binds to CXCR4-expressing cancer cells. This allows for the specific delivery of a cytotoxic dose of alpha radiation to CXCR4-expressing cancer cells. CXCR4, a marker of poorly differentiated cells, is overexpressed on various cancer cells, and plays a key role in tumor growth, progression, invasiveness and metastasis.
**Synonyms:** - 212-Lead Pentixather - 212Pb-Pentixather - Lead 212-labeled Pentixather - Lead Pb 212-Pentixather
