**Definition:** A finding indicating that elevated concentrations of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) fraction L3 (AFP-L3) were detected in a sample. AFP-L3 represents a glycoform variant of AFP that is highly reactive with Lens culinaris-expressed agglutinin (LCA) due to the presence of an extra alpha-(1-6) fucose attached to the N-acetylglucosamine modification present in AFP.
