Upon administration, metabolic anti-cancer agent ASCA101 may disrupt one or more specific metabolic processes in cancer cells, which may lead to an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) and adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) depletion. This causes apoptosis and prevents proliferation of susceptible cancers cells only while sparing normal, healthy cells.
