Allogeneic Ex-vivo-treated Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of allogeneic peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) treated and induced ex vivo to undergo early apoptosis, with potential immunomodulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration of allogeneic ex-vivo-treated PBMCs, the early apoptotic cells are engulfed by macrophages and immature dendritic cells (DCs). This leads to immune modulation, which may result in immune-mediated tumor cell death.
