Anterior Cord Syndrome

**Definition:** A syndrome caused by occlusion or injury to the anterior spinal artery. It is typically characterized by an abrupt onset of pain followed by bilateral motor deficits at or below the level of the lesion, and alterations of pain and temperature sensations a few dermatomal segments below the level of the lesion.
