Autologous CAR-T Cells B4T2-001
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of autologous T-lymphocytes that have been genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the tumor-associated antigen (TAA) BT-001, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, autologous CAR-T cells B4T2-001 target and bind to BT-001-expressing tumor cells. This results in a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against the tumor cells, the release of cytotoxic molecules and the induction of tumor cell lysis. BT-001, a tumor self-antigen, is overexpressed in certain tumor cell types, and plays a key role in tumor migration, invasion, and metastasis.
**Synonyms:** - B4t2 001 - B4t2-001 - B4t2001
