Rizedisben
**Semantic type:** Indicator, Reagent, or Diagnostic Aid
**Definition:** A small molecule, myelin binding agent conjugated to a fluorophore, that can potentially be used for the intraoperative fluorescence detection and localization of nerve structures. Upon administration of rizedisben, the myelin-binding moiety targets and specifically binds to myelin. Upon fluorescence imaging, nerve tissues are illuminated and can be visualized. The localization of myelin may decrease myelinated nerve injuries during surgery.
**Synonyms:** - Illuminare-1 - Myelin-binding Fluorophore - Myelin-binding Imaging Agent - RIZEDISBEN
