**Definition:** A proprietary immunohistochemistry-based assay used to detect the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein. It uses rabbit monoclonal antibody D5F3 to specifically bind ALK and ALK-fusion proteins expressed by tumor cells in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) specimens. This assay may be used to determine if subjects are eligible for treatment with ALK-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI).
