Elritercept
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A recombinant fusion protein composed of a modified form of the ligand-binding domain of the human transforming growth factor beta (TGF-b) receptor activin receptor type IIA (ActRIIA) and linked to the Fc domain of human antibody, with red blood cell (RBC) and platelet stimulating activities. Upon subcutaneous administration, elritercept acts as a ligand trap, and binds to a subset of the TGF-b family of proteins. This inhibits the binding of these proteins to their receptors and blocks signaling mediated by this subset of TGF-b family of proteins and their receptors. This may promote hematopoiesis and increase RBC and platelet production.
