**Definition:** Human DACH1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 13q21.33 and is approximately 429 kb in length. This allele, which encodes Dachshund homolog 1 protein, is involved in both transcriptional regulation and organogenesis. Loss of expression of the gene may be associated with metastatic cancer and poor prognosis.
