Mayo Staging System for AL Amyloidosis

**Definition:** A grading system for cardiac involvement in light chain (AL) amyloidosis. It uses serum levels of cardiac troponins (troponin T or I), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) or its N-terminal propeptide (NT-ProBNP), and the difference between involved and uninvolved free light chains (dFLC) to assess the degree of cardiac muscle injury.
