Modified Influenza Virus Expressing HPV16 E6/E7 FluBHPVE6E7

**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A cancer vaccine comprised of a modified influenza viral vector that lacks the C-terminal part of the non-structural gene NS1 (delNS) encoding the tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) E6 and E7, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, modified influenza virus expressing HPV16 E6/E7 FluBHPVE6E7 stimulates the host immune system to mount a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells expressing HPV16 E6 and E7, resulting in tumor cell lysis. HPV16 E6 and E7 are oncoproteins that play a key role in the tumorigenesis of a variety of cancers.
