Oral Melanoacanthoma

**Definition:** A non-neoplastic indolent oral lesion, characterized by proliferation of mucosal epithelial and melanocytic cells. It is distinct from neoplastic cutaneous melanoacanthoma. It usually affects the buccal mucosa and presents as a rapidly growing, pigmented lesion. It is caused by chronic trauma and/or reactions to oral care.
