LDB3 wt Allele

**Definition:** Human LDB3 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 10q23.2 and is approximately 69 kb in length. This allele, which encodes LIM domain-binding protein 3, plays a role in maintaining the structural integrity of the Z-discs in striated muscle. Mutation of the gene is associated with dilated cardiomyopathy 1C, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy 24, left ventricular noncompaction 3 and myofibrillar myopathy 4.
