**Definition:** Diaphranography (transillumination light scanning) is a non-invasive imaging procedure for the detection and evaluation of breast disease, by visualizing lesions through a television camera sensitive to infrared light. Diaphranography has been demonstrated to be a useful adjunct to mammography.
