Cardiac Phospholamban

**Definition:** Cardiac phospholamban (52 aa, ~6 kDa) is encoded by the human PLN gene. This protein is involved in contractility of the heart muscle through the regulation of calcium transport by sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 2 (ATP2A2).
