**Definition:** A term that refers to a group of cutaneous melanocytic neoplasms that are composed of epithelioid and/or spindle cells and extend from the epidermis into the reticular dermis, often in a wedge-shaped configuration. They are usually associated with oncogenic mutations that activate the MAP-kinase pathway. This category includes Spitz nevus, Spitz melanocytoma, and Spitz melanoma.
