**Definition:** Human DACT1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 14q23.1 and is approximately 14 kb in length. This allele, which encodes dapper homolog 1 protein, is involved in the regulation of Wnt- and dishevelled-mediated signaling pathways during development. Mutation of the gene is associated with Townes-Brocks syndrome 2 (TBS2).
