Ventrogluteal Region

**Definition:** An area of the hip containing the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus muscles that is bordered anteriorly by the anterior superior iliac spine and posteriorly by the posterior superior iliac spine. It is a preferred location for intramuscular injections as it minimizes the risk of penetrating neurovascular structures.
