**Definition:** A heterotetrameric protein complex that localizes to the centromere. This complex is believed to play a role in proper chromosome alignment and segregation, chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization, and spindle assembly. The chromosomal passenger complex includes survivin, aurora kinase B, inner centromere protein and borealin.
