MAGE-A4-specific T-cell Engager CDR404
**Semantic type:** Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein|Immunologic Factor|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A bispecific T-cell engaging antibody directed against the human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A2-restricted tumor-associated antigen (TAA) human melanoma-associated antigen A4 (MAGE-A4) and the T-cell surface antigen CD3, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon intravenous administration of the MAGE-A4-specific T-cell engager (TCE) CDR404, the anti-MAGE-A4 moiety targets and binds to MAGE-A4 presented on HLA-A2 on tumor cells and the anti-CD3 moiety binds to CD3- expressing cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs). This selectively cross-links tumor cells and T-lymphocytes and results in a CTL-mediated death of MAGE-A4-expressing tumor cells. MAGE-A4 is overexpressed by a variety of cancer cell types.
