**Definition:** A variant of fibrous histiocytoma of the skin characterized by the presence of spindle-shaped neoplastic cells that are surrounded by dendrocytes and macrophages in the dermis. The neoplastic cellular infiltrate may exhibit a storiform growth pattern. The overlying epidermis is usually hyperplastic with elongated hyperpigmented rete ridges.
